Springtrap, alternatively known as Scraptrap in the future, is the deuteragonist of Five Nights at Freddy's: The Stories.
He is an animatronic rabbit that was given new life by a night guard that had been stuffed in his suit by Foxy. After redeeming himself then surviving 100 years under the new alias Scraptrap, he would ally with Present Day Toy Chica to stop Nightmare from taking over the world.
What Makes Him a Guile Hero?[]
- While he has some comedic or even moments where he messes up, with Scraptrap even admitting he’s stupid at times (especially throughout middle Season 4 as Scraptrap, such as him saying “She (Toy Chica) looks uglier when she’s angry” to Season 2 Golden Freddy or especially the rant to Season 2 Golden Freddy that he surrendered despite the fact he could easily kill both him and Toy Chica. However, most infamously being where he startled Toy Chica in “The Lost One” purposefully, causing her to fall backward and drop the device in the water, damaging it.), they are brushed off in the long run due to the fact he either feels genuine remorse or fixes the problem. Justification was also revealed in “The Consequence”
- Rescued Golden Freddy in “The Last Suffering 3”
- In “The Battle For Survival 2”, he decided to sacrifice himself along with Puppet so Toy Chica could get into the portal.
- In “The Battle for Survival 3”, as he’s about to be killed by Nightmare, Springtrap outsmarts him using a nearby table, which allows Springtrap to flee.
- It can be shown that Scraptrap has some intellect, as he not only survived the animatronic purge made by Nightmare and Mangle while the world was being taken over, but also survived 100 years after until Toy Chica arrived to team up with him.
- Was willing to team up with Toy Chica to defeat Nightmare, even in his older, more decrepit body.
- As shown in “New Possibilites” Scraptrap was able to take a generator and run power in an abandoned building, in his workshop.
- Scraptrap tells Toy Chica he knew that Nightmare Mangle would try to kill the animatronic part of him, but the human part was still alive, so he tricked her into thinking he was fully dead.
- While Scraptrap states he had to take parts of his dead friends’ bodies to stay alive, he is shown to feel remorse over it. It was also justified, as he had to do it to survive.
- Found the files needed in order to get Golden Freddy’s message directly to them on the computer.
- Encouraged Toy Chica to continue her mission.
- Shown to have fighting skills in both “The Nightmare Is Real” and “Friends and Enemies”, with the latter episode being in his Scraptrap form, an impressive feat considering his state.
- In “Deadly Plan”, he was able to make a scene which would make Puppet, Withered Foxy, and Toy Freddy not confused when they woke up due to what had happened prior.
- In “True Destiny”, he would quickly swipe the memory device from Season 2 Golden Freddy while he was distracted although this resulted in him not being able to forget his memories of the future duo being there.
- In “The Lost One”, Scraptrap appears to be able to write coordinates.
- Even though Scraptrap ended up startling Chica to where she dropped the machine in the water, he quickly gets to work on fixing his mistake which ends up working and fixes the machine.
- Scraptrap is shown to be able to check body/endoskeleton conditions
- In “The Consequence”, Scraptrap reveals he had befriended a mute man named Mike and took care of him, the two becoming good friends.
- More fighting skills of his are shown in the same episode, along with Mike.
- In “The Painful Truth”, Springtrap is shown to genuinely care about Mike as he surrenders to the Nightmares for Mike’s safety. However, this is tragically revealed to be a fluke and Nightmare Bonnie forces Springtrap to kill Mike himself with a gun Springtrap is stuck to, which he does so very remorsefully. This death would heavily affect Springtrap’s mentality which would be reasoning/justification for most of his dumber actions.
- In the same episode, Springtrap would see his axe which he would grab with his free hand, which would force him to cut off his left hand to get freed.
- He would mentor Toy Chica into becoming ready to take on Nightmare by having her land a singular hit on him. While this may seem dumb at first, he actually prepares her for any and every threat that Nightmare could throw that could kill her, as Nightmare wouldn't play fair. By the end, it took Toy Chica 31 days to even land a hit on him.
- Unlike Toy Chica, Scraptrap sees through Jack-O-Bonnie's (one of Nightmare's Keepers) lie immediately. While Toy Chica ends up falling for his bait and ends up in Mangle's domain as a result, Scraptrap himself keeps Jack-O-Bonnie in check. When Jack-O-Bonnie tries to stab Scraptrap while he isn't looking, Scraptrap immediately turns and shoots him multiple times, having expected the attack.
- Unlike his original counterpart he lacked any of his heinous actions and full-scale villainy.
Trivia[]
