Shadow the Hedgehog is a major character in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He is known for being the foil to Sonic with him paralleling the other's speed and arrogance.

In Japanese, he is voiced by Kōji Yusa. He was voiced in English by David Humphrey from 2001 to 2004, Ryan Drummond briefly in Sonic Adventure 2, and Jason Griffith in 2005 to 2010. From 2010 onwards, he is voiced by Kirk Thornton, barring a skin in Shadow Generations which was voiced by Keanu Reeves.

What Makes Him A Guile Hero?

• He has shown skills in manipulation, such as in Sonic Adventure 2 where he manipulates Eggman (a genius himself) into thinking he is his ally.
• He has shown a great amount of intelligence as he tends to work as the straight man a lot of the time, as well as being able to figure out what is going on with Infinite and him creating clones.
• He saw through Mephiles' manipulation.
• Forces Sonic to help in his goal in Sonic 06.
• Took off his inhibiter rings and blasted through countless Mephiles clones, saving his friends in the process.
• Although he did start off as a villain, Shadow has since been reformed and has consistently fought on the side of good, wanting to keep his promise to Maria to protect the world.
• Helped the Resistance Stop Eggman.

Trivia

• He is the second Sonic the Hedgehog character to be a Guile Hero.
• He is the only Guile Hero in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise to also be a Magnificent Baddie.
