Sasha Waybright is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Captain Grime) of Amphibia. She used to be a student at Saint James Middle School and a childhood friend to both Anne Boonchuy and Marcy Wu before they were transported into Amphibia where she was imprisoned at the Toad Tower before she became the second-in-command and lieutenant to Captain Grime in Toad Army. Following King Andrias' invasion, she later redeem herself of her past mistakes and formed a Wartwood Resistance against him. After Andrias and the Core's defeat, she and her friends return back to Earth. Ten years later, she became a child psychologist.
She was voiced by Anna Akana.
What Makes Her a Guile Hero?[]
In General[]
- While she used to be villainous and anti-heroic of the first two seasons, she later condemned that she's not that person anymore while fighting Darcy.
- Despite her toxic relationship with them, she still cares for both Anne and Marcy. However in the third season, she later truly become good friends with them even after they grew up ten years later.
Background[]
- Prior to the events of the series, she was already charismatic and manipulative to others, including both her friends Anne and Marcy, before they were teleported to Amphibia.
- When she was a child, she defended both Anne and Marcy from two teenage bullies who took their swing. Despite she missed them, the bullies then left out of annoyance. This led her befriended both as result.
- Stops Maggie from bullying Anne by threatening to revoke her invitation to her pool party.
- She and Marcy convinced Anne to steal the Calamity Box from the thrift store despite the latter regret over this decision.
Season 1[]
- Despite being captured and imprisoned in the Toad Tower, she remained calm and patient instead of resisting while waiting for her time to escape.
- Managed to befriend some of the toad soldiers and convinced them to quit their jobs.
- Convince Grime to be nice to his toad soldiers which leading him to change his ways.
- Instead of having her opportunity to escape from the tower and leaving Grime behind, she instead helped him fight against pair of Herons.
- Her charisma and manipulations is what led Grime to convince her to become his lieutenant and second-in-command of the Toad Army which she accepts despite wanting to leave the tower at first.
- She and the rest of the Toad Army tricked Anne and the frogs into having a banquet at the Toad Tower so they could execute Hop Pop in the public before killing the frogs.
- Attempts to threatened Anne into surrendering herself. If it wasn't for Sprig's intervention, Grime could've won and Hop Pop will be killed.
- Using her dagger to knock the sword off of Anne and threw a cape on her face to swept on her leg.
- When Anne and the Plantars are risking their lives to save Sasha from falling off the tower despite her attempted mass murder on the frogs, she lets herself fall of to her near death after realizing how she awfully treated Anne in the past.
Season 2[]
- Despite her first defeat at the hands of Anne and losing the Toad Tower, she managed to improve her combat skills through her rigorous training and convince Grime to train instead of slacking off due to being a wanted criminal.
- While she and Grime are being chased by General Yunan, she later admitted she doesn't want to lose him and protect him from having the same fate as Anne's, showing he cared for him too much.
- Managed to trick General Yunan into re-introducing herself just to give Grime an opportunity to push her off to the ravine.
- Despite all of the dangers she, Grime, Percy and Braddock have been going through, she refused to give up on retrieving the Barrel's Warhammer which they successfully did it.
- Though she doesn't want both Percy and Braddock to leave the Toad Army, she later regretfully allow them after Grime convince her to let them go since they have their limits.
- Helps Anne and Marcy recharge the pink gem after passing their trials.
- Manipulating both Anne and Marcy into thinking she had changed in order to trick them into helping her and Grime to invade Newtopia and take over Amphibia.
- Though she throws her sword and all of her dagger away, she managed to hide one dagger in her hair for her to use against the giant hornets.
- Advised by Toadie that she only has to support her friends instead of need to be in charge, she finally takes his advice to her heart and decide to help both Anne and Marcy perform a song that Anne wrote during the Battle of the Bands.
- Rallied the Toad Army to invade Newtopia and overthrow King Andrias to take over the entire Amphibia. She then threatened King Andrias to destroy the Calamity Box which allows Grime to paralyze him.
- Despite achieving her goal of ruling over Amphibia along with Grime, refused to go back home, betraying Anne and Marcy in favor of it and attempt to separate Anne from the Plantars against her choice, she later changed her mind after she and Grime are horrified of discovering Andrias' true nature. She tries to warn the group about it and later she had no choice but to fight Anne after they understandably refused to listen to them. After King Andrias revealing his true nature, she teamed up with Anne and the others to fight against him.
Season 3[]
- She and Grime are horrified of seeing Marcy getting stabbed by King Andrias, showing she still cared for her despite selfishly stranding herself and her friends to Amphibia in the first place.
- After she and Grime fleeing into Wartwood, she began to show her heavy remorse over her actions and is surprised to see the Wartwood citizens treated them with kindness. Due to her regrets, she refused to leave Wartwood and tells Grime that she wants nothing to do with their plans because she's sick and tired of tricking and manipulating people. After reading the entry about their friendship on Anne's journal, she regretfully realized the error of her ways and decided to apologize to the citizens for her past actions. She and Grime then save the citizens from a giant Frobot.
- Formed the Wartwood Resistance to fight against King Andrias. After Anne and the Plantars return to Amphibia, she initially passed down her leadership to Anne before she finally puts her faith on her which allowed her to retake the lead. Finally, she and Anne agreed to lead the Resistance together.
- As the leader of the Resistance, she's highly strategic and calculating when it comes to thinking of her plans. She also puts her faith on the rest of the members as she assured Anne to not to worry about them. Even when there are slip-ups like Sprig and Ivy did not following her orders, she would still forgive them.
- Telling both Lysil and Angwin of what it's like to make mistakes and is willing to make it up for it. After Lysil and Angwin risked their life to save Proteus from being drilled by King Andrias and his forces, she stood up for them and rightfully calling Parisia her out for her harshness towards them for their mistakes.
- Sending both Sprig and Grime to work together to defeat Beatrix so they could convince her to join the Resistance along with the other toads.
- Comforted Anne after she scolded the frogs, toads and newts for refusing to work together.
- While being unsure if she should forgive Marcy for sending themselves to Amphibia, she later realizes that she and Anne were really bad friends to her for not caring about her interests.
- She and Anne managed to free both Olivia and Yunan from being controlled by mind-controlling collars.
- During her fight with Darcy, she severed the Core's connection on Marcy to free her from its influence. After Marcy regained her conciousness, she and Anne tearfully forgive her for her selfish actions.
- This act allowed Anne to defeats King Andrias after she stopped Darcy from mind-controlling him to fight back.
- After returned to Amphibia, she, Anne and Marcy are using their powers to stop the Core from destroying Amphibia and all of its life out of spite over its loss. When the Core began to approach even more, she and Marcy attempts to convince her not to use the power of all gems, knowing it will led to her death, but they allowed it since they have no choice.
- After Anne destroyed the Core, she and the others mourned for her death before she was revived later on.
- While tearfully bidding her goodbye to Grime, she asked him to tell both Percy and Braddock that she will miss them.
- Ten years later, she became a child psychologist and helping the children fight over their emotional problems using her own experience.
