Ron Stallworth is the main protagonist of the 2018 film BlacKkKlansman and is directly based on the real life African American policeman Ron Stallworth, a black officer who did in fact succeed at infiltrating the Colorado branch of the KKK in the 1970s.
He is portrayed by John David Washington.
What Makes Him A Guile Hero?[]
- He takes in stride with being a policemen who takes down criminals with strategic planning than brute force. It's not helping that he is shown to be skilled at using his wits, knowledge, stealth and a fake identity to single-handedly infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan.
- He was the brains behind the entire operation with getting the KKK into thinking that Flip was the in-person Ron Stallworth with a convincing voice to match, while the real Ron Stallworth was on the phone line in terms of the KKK calling for his address, which was all planned out in order for the ruse to be a success.
- In order to start his scheme against the KKK, he helped encouraging his friend Flip Zimmerman (who was innocent) gain his confidence in playing the role of a "full-on racist xenophobe" to fool and convince the KKK into thinking Flip was "Ron Stallworth" in peerson when Ron was playing them behind their backs the whole time.
- He (alongside Zlip) gathered uncovered proof of Klan infiltration of the Army at Fort Collins, which Ron passed on to the Army CID.
- He convinced the Colorado Springs police force of Connie's terroristic attempt with bombing someone's house, and have her arrested and taken away from Felix, her psychopathic spouse.
- He has moments here and there of being mischievous and having a prankster side to his cunning and wit as a intelligent protagonist, such as him frequently pranking David Duke throughout the film during the impersonation act, such as his legendary prank phone call to David at the climax of the film when Ron was at the police station, and this example was right after he got the Klu Klux Klan defeated and confirmed for their crimes of oppression.
- Ron was able to get past the KKK's radar even when Nelson Walker almost supsected Ron being the one playing them, and Ron still remained smooth the entire time.
- He also went undercover and keeping his police officer job a secret identity from the public, and even when his former girlfirend Patrice founded out, he was remorseful and only wanted to do the right thing that was using strategy to take down the KKK and help enforce the "black rights" demand with subtley rather than facing head on.
- Even though the Klan conducted a cross burning near his apartment in retaliation for him fooling the Klan, Ron still remained successful in putting a downfall to the KKK organization in Colorado Springs.
