Grand Master Oogway is the overarching protagonist of the Kung Fu Panda franchise.
He is a 1000-year-old turtle. Who founded Kung Fu and also indirectly catalyzed most of the events in the franchise.
He was voiced by Duk Kim in almost all appearances and by Piotr Michael in Paws of Destiny
What Makes Him A Guile Hero?[]
- He defeated Ke-Pa and his demon brothers with Peach Tree granted him Heroes Chi, sealed them away in high mountain.
- He created Kung Fu, therefore caused the whole China inspired to train any heroic people how to use martial arts against any enemies who are threat to anyone.
- While it was implied that he used to be a conqueror, he abandoned this path for the greater good.
- Knew how to stop Jindiao. By ordering Bunnidharma to create a spirit urn to capture Jindiao's soul.
- He defeated Kai. Thereby saving the village of pandas, from whom Kai wanted to take chi.
- Adopted Shifu and taught him kung fu.
- Freed the people of the valley from Scorpion's control and banished her.
- Although he sent Master Ding to study with the monks of the atop of Mugu Mountain, after which Din rebelled against the teachers, killing them and trying to capture them Valley of Peace, Oogway didn't know this was going to happen, compensating for it by imprisoning Ding.
- Defeated Fenghung and trapped her in a special trap in the shape of an owl.
- Defeated Tai Lung.
- Helped Master Bull, Croc, and Rhino stop the Wu Sisters and find their place in life. He supported Po and wanted him to continue to fight for his dream.
- He convinced Shifu that it was Po who could defeat Tai Lung.
- Even though he had to kill Kai, Oogway did it to save the village and he really wants Kai to stop.
- Sent a universe message to Li Shan so that Po would find his father, go to the panda village and defeat Kai.
- After Kai's defeat, Oogway names Po as his successor.
- He tells Po to train the four constellations, saying that otherwise the children will be doomed.
- Warned Po about Jindiao and the White Bone Demon
