Marinette Dupain-Cheng, better known as her superhero identity Ladybug, is the titular main protagonist of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. She is a clumsy teenager who aspires to be a fashion designer. As Ladybug, she fights alongside Cat Noir (who she doesn't know is her crush Adrien Agreste) to defeat various akumatized villains created by Hawk Moth.
She is voiced by Anouck Hautbois in French and Cristina Vee in English.
What makes her a Guile Hero?[]
- She's very smart, especially when it comes to defeating akumatized villains, specifically with her Lucky Charm ability. Such as using the laser of a rocket launcher to guide her partner Cat Noir who was then brainwashed into defeating the guards of Malediktator, breaking the lamp in Chloe's room to stop Evillustrator from drawing, using a bag of marbles to trip Antibug and using a drone to lure Jagged Stone's pet crocodile Fang into Lies' dome which effects anyone who has lied which doesn't effect Fang as he is a crocodile.
- Another example of her trickery is in the episode Silencer after the eponymous akumatized villain has taken away her voice which makes her not able to use her powers. She forges a plan to summon her Lucky Charm by painting a lamp in red and black to make it look like a Lucky Charm. When she and Cat Noir confront Silencer, Silencer uses her voice to question how she is able to summon her Lucky Charm, to which Ladybug uses the ability when Silencer uses those two words which succeeds and gives her an actual Lucky Charm.
- She is one of the only people who can tell that Lila Rossi is a liar and doesn't fall for her lies, even calling her out, making the two enemies.
- In the episode "Kwamibuster", she manages to form a successful plan using all of the Kwamis in the Chinese Miracle Box (except for Tikki, Plagg and Wayzz, the former two having being captured by the titular villain) to rescue Tikki and Plagg, while at the same time managing to dissuade Cat Noir from her true identity as Marinette.
- While she gets outplayed by Félix Fathom in the Season 4 finale, who manages to play her like a fiddle and steal all of the Miraculous, by the time of Season 5, she manages to recover from her slip-up, seen in the Season 5 epsiode Multiplication when she goes back to her trickster ways as she manages to use her Lucky Charm (which is a fishing rod) in order to defeat Ikari Gozen, now with the powers of the Mouse Miraculous.
- In her final confrontation against her arch-nemesis, she achieves a complete, perfect victory. Ladybug won the direct, physical fight against Monarch (who had the upper hand of using three times more miraculouses than she) by taking away several miraculouses with a tactical strike, and outsmarting him to steal the butterfly brooch; along it, Marinette gave Gabriel a moral and ethical beatdown pointing the toxic, possessive and neglectful father he was to Adrien and how Gabriel himself caused more damage than good to his son; And after defeating her most dangerous enemy until that point, Ladybug/Marinette was able to makes Gabriel/Monarch give up his original plans about how change the reality and make the world a better place not just to his family, but to all planet.
- It is a particularly important victory because, in anothers points, Monarch showed how obsessive he was about getting the hero's miraculouses, how he gives up from every other thing beside his dream to change the world and how little he cared about anything else. And make someone so obsessive change completely his goal shows the amazing person Marinette is without her powers and the special way she can touch person's lives being herself and not just someone using super powers.
