~ Kevin |
Kevin is a major character in Illumination's Despicable Me franchise, serving as a supporting character in Despicable Me 2, a minor character in its sequels, Despicable Me 3 and Despicable Me 4, and serves as the main protagonist of the series' prequel, Minions, and one of the three deuteragonists (alongside Stuart and Bob) of Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Kevin is the intelligent and selfless leader of his tribe, the Minions. After the minions undergone ultimate and constant failure from seeking for a villainous and most dreaded boss to serve upon their birth, Kevin arrives to the scene and announces his ultimate plan for the search of a new boss after the tribe is in peril, and teams up with Stuart and Bob (quite grudgingly at first), which is what led themselves to England and meeting Felonious Gru as their new boss to serve. He is knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. Kevin is also the arch-nemesis of Scarlet Overkill, as he accidentally drops a chandelier over her and was the sole minion to escape her and the other villains' wrath from it, as well as being the one to face her off as a giant minion.
Kevin is voiced by Pierre Coffin, who also voiced the rest of the Minions (including Mel) in the same franchise.
What Makes Him A Guile Hero?[]
- Overall, Kevin is an genius-level intelligent, selfless and kindhearted minion who shows pure loyalty and sympathy about the wellbeing of his fellow tribe of Minions. To further contribute this, when his tribe grieved for a professional master to serve, Kevin was the one to remind them not to give up and continue the search as he had the ultimate plan to find a master to serve.
- When his tribe of Minions mourned from lacking a master to serve, Kevin was the one to give them a speech reminding them not to give up and continue the search, which encouraged and motivated all of them, and chose Stuart and Bob to form a heroic and reliable trio in order to embark through their quest on searching for a new boss, which is what led the rest of the Minions to England and meeting Gru as their new boss.
- Kevin made himself into a giant minion to rescue Bob and Stuart, and to defeat Scarlet Overkill and Herb Overkill.
- Defeated Scarlet Overkill by swallowing her huge missile and sacrificing himself to take her and Herb Overkill down with him with the missile's explosion.
- Saved Gru from the Vicious 6 by following him to a store, Criminal Records, with Bob, Stuart and Otto, even though Gru told them not to.
- Kevin came up with the idea to learn kung-fu from Master Chow in order to defeat the Vicious 6, and to rescue Gru and Wild Knuckles.
- Kevin, along with Stuart and Bob, defeated the Vicious 6 by unleashing his "inner beast" as said and mentored by Master Chew, giving Gru the opportunity to reduce the Vicious 6 into harmless little rats with the Zodiac Stone.
