John Connor is the overarching protagonist of The Terminator, the main protagonist of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and has a minor cameo character in Terminator: Dark Fate. When he first appears, he starts off as a teenage delinquent, until encountering both the T-1000 and the T-800. Their encounters showed him of what would happen to the future, prompting him to go save Sarah Connor and become humanity's savior against Skynet.
What Makes Him a Guile Hero?[]
- Throughout his childhood, he got trained by Sarah Connor to become an experienced military leader, so he could lead humanity against Skynet.
- He demonstrates one of the skills he learned by successfully hacking an ATM machine to steal some cash.
- With the T-1000 distracted from fighting the T-800, John takes his opportunity to escape from the terminators.
- While talking with "Janelle" to make sure that she and Todd are safe, he noticed that something was unnatural about her behavior.
- He makes sure to give his phone to the T-800 to confirm if the T-1000 had already murdered Janelle and Todd.
- Adamantly giving orders to his T-800, so he wouldn't attempt to kill anyone.
- Going with the T-800 to rescue Sarah from the mental hospital.
- Reloading Sarah and the T-800's guns, so they would be able to slow down the T-1000 from catching up to their car.
- He and Sarah worked together on resetting the T-800's CPU chip, so he would be able to learn.
- When Sarah attempted to destroy the T-800's chip, John is able to give his reasons as to why the T-800 is necessary for their protection.
- Teaching the T-800 on learning cool catchphrases and human behavior.
- Is able to realize on Sarah's plan to kill Miles Dyson from understanding her philosophy of wanting to change fate.
- Assisted Miles Dyson, Sarah, and the T-800 on their raid to destroy Cyberdyne Systems.
- He is able to use his hacking skills to open up the closed doors.
- He and Sarah shared their masked together, so they could breathe from the knockout gas, until being rescued by the T-800.
- Hiding behind a bulletproof vest to shield himself from the T-1000's bullets.
- As the T-800 prepared to have himself be killed, John tries to order him to stay, but ultimately allows him to die on his own terms, so that Skynet is never created.
