Wing Din Gaster also known as Gaster as a former villain turned hero in the YouTube webseries Glitchtale. In the first season of Glitchtale, Gaster starts off as a tragic villain that was trapped in the void and was interested on the soul of Frisk. Due to Gaster's interest on Frisk, he attempts to kill Frisk, but is killed by Sans. In the next reset, Gaster is brought back to the timeline by a machine that Sans had fixed. Gaster reunites with Sans and apologizes to Frisk for his aggressive behavior thereby redeeming himself for his past villainous actions. Gaster later becomes the tritagonist on the second season of Glitchtale and plays an active role in killing Bête Noire.
What Makes Him A Guile Hero?[]
Season 1[]
- Watches the Glitchtale timeline to learn and capture Frisk, so that Gaster can escape the void by using the soul of Frisk.
- Teleports Frisk into a mysterious door, so that Frisk may confront him.
- Preventing Frisk from using the reset button, so that Frisk won't escape.
- Stabs Sans in an attempt to prevent Sans from absorbing Frisk's soul to become stronger.
- After being defeated by Sans, Gaster attempts to kill Sans by stabbing the latter in the back which unfortunately backfires on Gaster.
- Redeems himself by helping Sans, Flowey, and Frisk fight Chara.
- Defends Sans from Chara's attack
Season 2[]
Old Timeline[]
- After the events of season 1, he presents multiple of his scientific projects to humanity.
- Reading about the history of humanity through books.
- Plans on working on the expansion of the core, so that humans and monsters will no longer need to pay for electricity.
- He and Sans research the soul trait of Bête Noire.
- Reading the "Tale of Two Siblings" and discovers the origins of Bête Noire.
- Learns that Fear can only be defeated by determination, so Gaster helps Frisk use the latter's Determination to defeat fear.
- Teaming up with Alphys to kill Bête Noire.
- For plan A, he attempts to fight and kill Bête Noire, but loses to Bête Noire. Despite losing to Bête Noire, Alphys was able to initiate plan B on blasting Bête Noire.
- Saves Sans from getting hit with a pipe in the past.
- Realizes that he himself and the rest of the monsters have gained determination giving them the ability to bleed blood. It causes him to realize that Undyne has a chance in killing Bête Noire due to Undyne's determination.
- Questions Undyne as to how she failed in killing Bête Noire. Undyne tells Gaster that Bête Noire escaped by using a black substance and Gaster is able to deduce that the black substance is HATE.
- Lying to Papyrus about Sans's condition in an attempt to not break Papyrus's heart towards Sans.
- Tells Asgore and Toriel that there is still a chance to save Asriel from Bête Noire's control if they act quickly.
- Strategizes with Toriel and Asgore on dealing with Bête Noire.
- Using his machine to teleport Frisk into the void, so that Frisk can find Chara.
New Timeline[]
- Injects Sans with Frisk's Determination, so that Sans may eventually wake up from his coma.
- Requests Papyrus to stay in the lab while he goes to fight Bête Noire.
- He, Papyrus, and Sans work together to fight Bête Noire.
- Using his rage from the death of Sans to kill Bête Noire.
