~ Edge offering to join the team. |
Edge is one of the Rabbid protagonists who first appeared in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. She was created by Cursa and once the commander of the Spark Hunters, before she realized she was fighting on the wrong side and ends up turning on them and ends up joining the heroes to save the Sparks from them.
What Makes Her a Guile Hero?[]
- Unlike the majority of the Rabbids who are well known for their comedic, dim-witted, and especially for their "BWAAAHHH!" scream sound, Edge is considered to be one of the sanest and the most intelligent Rabbids out there, and even if the Rabbids in Sparks of Hope also started to improve with them being able to speak normally, being more approachable and became smarter, most of them have average intelligence, while Edge still stands out for not only being the smartest character, but she is also knows what is happening behind the scenes before anyone else does, showing that she also has common sense.
- Even though she was once a villain who was the commander of the Spark Hunters, who were created to capture the Sparks for Cursa to siphon their energy to crush Rosalina's will, Edge was given enough free will and independence to be a capable leader and to think freely. Additionally, her free will also did her well which it allowed her to see Cursa for the monster it truly was and tried to warn the Spark Hunters, whom were her friends, about it but they turned on her and she ends up leaving to join the heroes' side. This also contributes to much of her knowledge about the Spark Hunters and the rest of Cursa's dark forces.
- Edge carries a combination of intimidating and charismatic aura that also contributes to making her quite charming as shown during her briefer first appearance where the warden Augie is petrified of her and to prevent him from alerting Mario and the gang, she shushes him which he ends up sinking in the water in fear before she follows them into Sunrise Temple and while she does let out an ominous chuckle at times, she isn't truly evil, it is one of her habits she is accustomed to and even her new allies become nervous around her at first until she confirms that she wishes to help them stop Cursa and save the Sparks. Her confidence and the smiles she gives often give off the charismatic air about her.
- Edge is an extremely awesome and competent swordfighter who can carry the Flying Blade which is the same size as her and certain upgrades can make it look even taller than her when she throws it and given the high speed which the blade spins, she always catches it by the handle, and it will always bypass partial cover. This is best seen during her first appearance when she uses it against the Stooges that were trying to capture the innocent Spark named Twinkle, where she defeats one of them by throwing her blade and makes for a both a cool and intimidating introduction the way she walks out of the waterfall she was hiding behind and jumps in with confidence as she managed to defeat the rest and her acrobatics also contribute to how quick and skilled she is. This is also best shown in battle when she is in the party and her Technique, the Stormblade has her going into focus and any foe that moves within her range will have her attacking them in blindingly fast speed and any other foe within her range, regardless of whether they moved will also end up being slashed by her attacks. Even when she doesn't use her sword, she can use the Dash attacks up to a total of four times once her Dash stats is maxed out and the only who can do it that many times.
- When Twinkle becomes afraid of her, Edge stabs the sword down and genuinely gets into a gentle posture as she reaches her hand out to assure it that she won't hurt it. She quickly adapts to the change in scenarios when in the same scene, she stands her ground without any sign of fear when the Giant Wildclaw arrives by landing in front of her and she will hiss right back it.
- Edge acts as the voice of reason within the group and is one of the few who can draw to a more logical conclusion while the cast, notably Beep-0, usually tend to make an unrealistic prediction that things will be fine. She is fully aware of the Spark Hunters and Cursa's goals and knows that they will stop at nothing to get what they want.
- Edge is shown to care for the Spark Hunters, who were her old friends, and she did have a friendly interaction with Midnite until she made it clear to her that she isn't returning to Cursa's side and had some conflict with Bedrock. Even when, Edge had every reason to hold a grudge and ended their lives then and there, she chose instead to spare Midnite's life and does not return an angry look at Bedrock when she escapes with Daphne and it's heavily implied that she would have also spared Bedrock and Daphne even if they did not escape the way they did. The reason she spares them is due to the fact that she is honorable and refuses to be the monster Cursa is.
- Edge is also aware of the outcome of her actions, and she thinks about it first before going through. Additionally, she's very conscious of her past as the leader of the villainous organization, so she is hesitant about revealing who she is. As it slowly becomes clearer that Edge had a connection with the Spark Hunters and when she is confronted about it, she tells them that it's none of their business and also deflects the conversation when she worries about having to deal with Daphne, who is a dirty tactician. This is due to the fact that she has a common goal with the heroes and fears that if they find out everything about her history, they might stop trusting her and exile her from the group and lose essential allies she needs to save the Sparks and vanquish Cursa.
- Edge is the only person who saw through the fake transmission by Daphne who is impersonating the warden Momma, due to her sounding suspiciously out of character, though she isn't able to reveal anything because she has garnered suspicion at this point and once Daphne is revealed, Edge lets her friends know that Daphne is a crack shot from a distance and strategizes to attack with an overpowering rush, showing that she doesn't let Daphne's trickery catch her off-guard or affect how she plans her attacks.
- When Cursa arrives to confront them only for Rosalina to briefly break free to open a portal before being taken over again, Edge alerts everyone and Mario to escape through the portal that Rosalina created while there is still time since they don't stand a chance against it at this time.
- Upon confronting Darkmess Edge, she takes the lead to defeat the dark clone. Once they defeat it, she is unable to hide anything anymore due to speculation that Cursa may have created the clone itself which solidified her origins. She then admits that she was created by Cursa and how she was given the position of the Spark Hunter Commander, as well as an edge that gave her enough free will to be a capable leader, but she saw through it and after unsuccessfully trying to reform the Spark Hunters, she left to save the remaining Sparks she encountered and revealed that she never told them anything because she thought they might not believe her. But all of her heroic actions she displayed had already gave them enough reasons to trust her and assured that she is part of their family and doesn't need to keep secrets, which relieves Edge of stress.
- She helps her friends save the Sparks and Rosalina from Cursa's grasp and managed to destroy it for good. Later at the Mushroom Kingdom, Rosalina asks Edge on what she plans to do, and Edge figures that her old friends will be seeking a different profession, she decides to stay with her new friends to see if she can't keep them in line.
