Daniel "Danny" Cat is the main protagonist of Cats Don't Dance. He is an anthropomorphic orange tabby cat who wears a white shirt, a green bow tie, a black vest, brown pants and a straw hat. He is a talented cat who goes to Hollywood in hopes that he can sing and dance (since, according to his arrival song, he was a kitten), only to hear from Woolie the Elephant that Hollywood wants only talented human people. He is Darla Dimple and Max's archenemy.

What Makes Him A Guile Hero?[]

  • He convinced the non-human animals to put their dreams into action, remaining optimistic even in the face of tragedy.
  • He brought Sawyer's spirit back to the surface in her mind after learning about her backstory.
  • He got the animals to perform together in an alley and encouraged them to sing, dance, play music, and do whatever they liked.
  • Even though Darla was able to manipulate him into referring to her as his "little angel" and getting the non-human animals fired from Mammoth Studios (resulting in Danny temporarily losing his own spirit), Danny still rose above that manipulation and decided to go back to Hollywood to redeem himself and his friends to the studio.
  • He devised a plan for him and his friends to put on a show after the first screening of Lil' Ark Angel at the premiere, setting up the audition and pretending to honor Darla in the process. He then tricked her and the audience into thinking she was responsible for arranging the show.
  • He fought off Max using only his wits and one of the ropes holding the Darla Dimple balloon by saying the exact same words Max used to put him back in his minor role (to which Max responded "Meow?") and lead the balloon closer to one of the spires on the roof of the theater, puncturing it and sending the dreaded butler flying away with it in the process.
  • When some of his friends were reluctant to perform in the final show, he put his foot down and ordered them to leave if they were willing to accept what the humans thought of them.
  • He coached his friends to go along with Darla's attempts to sabotage their performance, which instead only enhanced their spectacle and caused a great amount of pain to Darla. This also caused Darla to inadvertently admit that she was the one who flooded Mammoth Studios through a microphone (which echoed throughout the theater) in her rant against the animals and subsequently be fired and demoted to a janitor.
