Often more of a wily "lovable rogue" rather than a knight in shining armor, a Trickster can may take many forms, from a resourceful strategist, to a mischievous prankster with so much thrill. Adventures with trickster-type heroes tend to be given good reasons for the tricks they astutely pull on the baddies, and they typically find a way to defeat them non-violently (sometimes even resorting to using subtlety and elaborate ruses to foil the villain's plans in an equally deceptive and more unpredictable fashion if the villains just also happen to be magnificent tricksters themselves).

Other times, however, trickster-type heroes can also bring vital factors of insight and essential lessons with anyone they encounter (e.g Bugs Bunny, Nick Wilde, Sonic (AOSTH), Kevin McCallister). And instead of their behavior coming off as too misguided or overly smug to the point of showing incompetence and excessive immaturity as heroes, their acts of trickery are seen in a much more respectable light.

NOTE: Not to be confused with Liars who trick others or Mischievous characters; this page is just for heroes who fit the Trickster archetype.
