“ | YOU'RE FIRED! | „ |
~ Benson's catchphrase. |
“ | Rigby, I'm proud of you. Not only did you last the whole day without quitting, but you applied to what you learned from your mentor to keep your job. Welcome back. | „ |
~ Benson when he told Rigby that he is proud of him when he passed the mentorship program. |
Benson Dunwoody is the deuteragonist of the 2010 Cartoon Network TV series, Regular Show.
He was voiced by Sam Marin who also voices Pops and Muscle Man. In the Japanese dub from the series, he was voiced by Tōru Ōkawa.
What Makes Him a Guile Hero?[]
- Is Mordecai and Rigby's voice of reasons as he knows what's best for them and wanted them to become more successful in their jobs.
- While he is certainly not as successful as Skips, he still has many goals he succeeds in, not to mention he was the one responsible for leading the park rangers and managed to maintain the park tidy despite the destruction it has many times.
- Though there are times where Benson may act like the villain such as where he completely destroyed Mordecai and Rigby's ears and even caused mass destruction in the park because of them insulting him way too many times and acting lazy, not only the park doesn't have as many survivors (while also not being confirmed how many survivors were there) not to mention it's possibly off-screen due to no survivors seen but it also seems Mordecai and Rigby's ears were perfectly fine in the next episode meaning their ears being deaf is temporarily while his mass destruction is off-screen. Especially since Pops is responsible for Benson controlling his anger until he turns into the sun, though it is justified. He also fired Muscle Man for a joke but even so, Muscle Man often annoys him.
- Stopped villains such as stopping the Destroyer of Worlds, Mr. Ross, Doug, Garret Bobby Furgerson Jr and Sr, Anti-Pops, Gene, and multiple others.
- With Mordecai's relationship with Margaret, he felt bad for him and wanted to cheer him up after their broke-up. Though Mordecai later accepted it and let Margaret be his best friend instead.
- Was a skilled stick hockey player in the past, as his best friend died, he felt bad and quit stick hockey because of it making it understandable. As he returned to playing stick hockey when Mordecai and Rigby were captured, he saved them by stopping the stick hockey master and beat stick hockey.
- When Rigby was humiliated on Expert or Liar, he felt bad for him (having been humiliated himself on Say That Word!) and helped him get back on the show.
- Is an expert drum player as he was able to do epic drum solo on his own despite how hard it is.
- Was able to resist the Scientists' manipulation as he knew they were using the Park Rangers just to study them and not the park. He also was able to learn survival skills which to the point managed to make him stop the scientists thanks to the owl.
- Was able to bring Muscle Man back to the prank war making him responsible for Muscle Man's heroism as Muscle Man stopped Gene from destroying the entire park with pranks and attempting to almost kill his friends.
